MICC is excited to offer the Connect program, a 10-week program for neurodivergent young adults ages 18+ to learn and practice social skills in a supportive and understanding setting. You’ll build confidence, improve communication, and strengthen skills that help in daily life, friendships, and independence.
Developed using the UCLA PEERS® curriculum, this program combines structured lessons with MICC’s community-based approach—offering guided learning, coaching, and real-world application to help participants gain confidence in social interactions and build lasting connections.
Why PEERS® at MICC?
Social connection is a cornerstone of independence and well-being. Many neurodivergent adults experience barriers to forming and maintaining meaningful relationships. MICC’s Connect program aims to bridge this gap through structured, evidence-based learning and individualized support—empowering participants to build friendships, navigate social situations, and increase their self-confidence.
By integrating PEERS® into MICC’s established community programming, participants benefit from:
- Trained facilitators who model and reinforce effective communication strategies
- A supportive, consistent environment that promotes independence and natural social growth
- A clear path to MICC’s Community program, supporting sustained engagement and continued development
This program serves as a foundation for long-term program development, allowing MICC to gather feedback, refine delivery, and expand based on community needs and participant outcomes.
