If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Donor Privacy Policy
(August 21, 2026)
Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to inform Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) donors regarding the collection and use of personally identifiable information.
Statement of Policy
Scope: This policy is applicable to all employees as it pertains to all stakeholders and contacts outside of MICC.
Policy Details:
Personal Information: Information that personally identifies an individual, such as name, address, telephone number, and email address.
MICC collects and stores personally identifiable information that has been provided by donors. By submitting information to MICC, donors’ consent to the terms and conditions of the policy and to the processing of personal information for the purposes stated below.
Below are some examples of ways in which information is collected. This list is not meant to be exhaustive, as MICC may collect personal information in ways not described below from time to time.
- When an individual requests information via one of the email addresses identified on the website or otherwise makes contact in person, by phone or email, with a question. MICC may then collect names, addresses, and email to respond to that inquiry.
- MICC may collect names, email address, and other contact information during event registration.
- MICC may collect name, email address, telephone number, and payment information when an individual makes a contribution, either from the MICC website, over the phone, or by mailing a check.
Removal from our Mail/Email List: It is MICC’s desire not to send unwanted communications to supporters. Supporters are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ (to choose not to participate in something) and remove themselves from MICC mail/email lists at any time, should they desire to do so. Donors can contact MICC at any time if they do not want to receive communications from MICC. See the “Discontinue Contact Policy” for more information.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
- MICC will not sell, trade, or share personal information collected on the website or through any other business activities with anyone else.
- MICC will not send mailings on behalf of other organizations.
- MICC will only share donor’s personal information if given specific permission to do so.
- MICC protects financial information received both online and offline. MICC will collect payment information, billing address and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration. MICC uses an accredited and secure online payment processing service. MICC does not store, nor do we have access to donor credit card information, bank account numbers or other account data sent through our processing services. Credit card payment information provided to MICC offline will be shredded after payments have been processed.
- MICC will use donor information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us, protect and defend our rights or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.
- MICC will use personal information to protect against potential fraud. MICC may verify personal information with third parties if the information was collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If a donor uses a credit or debit card on the website, MICC may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that the card information and address matches the information supplied and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.
- Limited donor information, such as name and timeframe in which a donation was made, may be used for promotional and fundraising activities. MICC provides donors the option to have their name publicly associated with their donation or to remain anonymous (donors must specifically request to remain anonymous).
- Except as described in this Privacy Policy or at the time we request information, we do not otherwise disclose personal information to any third parties. Further, MICC will not sell or trade personally identifiable information to any third parties.
Changes to the Privacy Policy: MICC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When revisions take place, this will be noted at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. For changes that may be materially less restrictive on use or disclosure of personally identifiable information, we will obtain donor consent before implementing the change by sending notice to donor’s primary email address and home address specified in records and by placing a prominent notice on the MICC website.
