MICC’s Participants of the Month are awarded by nominations from both peers and staff for individuals who have clearly demonstrated one or more of our three R’s: responsibility, resilience, and respect.

Nick is the College Participant of the Month!
Nick is the October College Participant of the Month with staff and peer nominations showcasing his commitment to all three Rs!
“Nick helped to put retreat items away after returning from a 2-night camping trip. All but one of his peers bolted for their apartments and Nick took the time and energy to help tired staff. He is always willing to lend a hand to help others.”
A Senior this year, Nick’s favorite MICC memory is going to Taylors Falls for the Senior Retreat. His favorite part of the College program is social activities. Nick says, “I really like social skills because you can make new friendships and I really like team sports because you can get out and learn all new sports you may have not tried before.”

Two fun facts about Nick: He likes hanging out with friends and family and used to play baseball! When asked why he thinks he was chosen as Participant of the Month, Nick reflects, “I think I was nominated because I always try to be a helping hand to others and to support others when they need help.”
Congratulations, Nick!

Tom is the Community Participant of the Month!
Tom is the February Community Participant of the Month with nominations highlighting his continuous Respect and Responsibility.
“Tom is super respectful in History Theater and a wonderful participant in activities.”
Tom graduated from the College program in May 2012. His all-time favorite memory of MICC is the retreat at Camp New Hope in McGregor. Lately his favorite activities are History Theater, Food & Nutrition, and International Cooking. In his spare time, Tom enjoys exploring different restaurants, and bowling.
Reflecting on his nomination, Tom says, “I am always responsible and go to my activities. And I lead a Club sometimes!”
Congratulations, Tom!
