May 2, 9, & 16 –A three week series about Christian Stewardship and Strategic Gift Planning presented by Kendra VanderMeulen covering the following topics:

1.     “Christian Stewardship: A Model for New Testament Generosity”

 

An overview of the concept of Biblical generosity. This will include an in-depth analysis of the teaching of the New Testament, as well as the history and development of giving in the early church and the implications for us today.


2.     “Strategic Gift Planning: Leveraging All That God Has Entrusted to You for His Kingdom”


An introduction to strategic generosity. This involves looking at tools and strategies for evaluating your unique situation and developing purposeful plans for stewarding all the Lord has entrusted to you. Topics will include managing to a financial finish line, traditional giving out of income, asset giving, retirement and inheritance issues, and testamentary giving.


Kendra VanderMeulen is a retired telecommunications executive who for the last 2.5 years has led the development of the Seattle Christian Foundation (SCF). SCF is a Christ-centered community foundation that encourages and equips Christians to serve God effectively in their giving. In this role, Kendra has been privileged to walk beside dozens of donors in our area as they seek to steward their resources well. Kendra and her husband of 28 years, William Snider, have been challenged by the opportunity to grow in their own giving journey over the years, which gives them some deep personal experience on which to draw. Kendra loves to teach about this subject and to encourage  brothers and sisters in Christ along the journey of generosity.


May 23 -Glenn Palmberg 

  • Grew up in Nebraska
  • Attended University of Nebraska for a year then transferred to North Park College
  • Graduated from North Park Seminary with Master of Divinity
  • Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary of Chicago
  • he first church he served at was Covenant Church of Hudson in Hudson, Ohio for 5.5. yrs
  • as Dean of students of North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago for 5 yrs
  • Was Pastor of a developing church in Olathe, Kansas for 10 yrs
  • Retired 1.5 yrs ago
  • Married to Sharon Londal from Detroit for 41 yrs
  • Their two adult children live in the Seattle area and they have two grandsons
  • Glenn and Bud Palmberg are cousins


May 30- Sunil Sardar and Noel Becchetti 

Sunil Sardar, founder of Truthseekers International, recently gave a keynote address at Connection 2010, held this January in Denver and sponsored by the Evangelical Covenant Church. The ECC has posted Sunil's address onto the Web and you can view it on the Truthseekers web site on the home page. Just log onto www.truthseekersna.org . If you have never met Sunil, it's a great chance to "meet" him and hear his heart.

Truthseekers International presents the truth of Jesus Christ to the seven hundred million lower caste and Dalit peoples throughout India. Sunil is a third generation Christian and native of the state of Maharashtra in central India. Throughout the 1990’s Sunil and his wife, Pam, were church planters and started more than 400 churches. Sunil is now dedicated to serving the lower castes of India to connect them to an Almighty God and ultimately, Christ. Sunil is married to wife, Pam, and they have four children Rebekah, Anna, Jessica, and Isaiah.




Noel is the Executive Director of Truthseekers. He served 13 years as president of Center for Student Missions (CSM), a short-term urban mission and service organization. Noel has also served on the Executive Board of the Evangelical Covenant Church, with Azusa Pacific University’s Mexico Outreach program, and as missions director for his local church. He and his wife Kylelive in El Cajon, California.
