We realize that attending a new church can
sometimes be a little intimidating. This page offers answers to
frequently asked questions from people joining us for the first
time.
What should I wear?
The quick, easy, and accurate answer is,
whatever you're wearing. But, we realize that many people
can be uncomfortable if their dress makes them stand out in
an unfamiliar place. So, in the spirit of making you as
comfortable as possible when you join us, here's our advice:
we tend to be a casual church, so casual business attire
will fit right in. Suits and ties are somewhat rare, but acceptable,
as are jeans and T-shirts.
When should I get there?
Your first choice will be which Sunday
service you'd like to attend. The early Sunday service tends
to be a bit more formal - our Pastor will wear a robe - and
the music is a bit more traditional. The second Sunday
service is a bit more relaxed and casual, with a more
contemporary music selection. You'll want to
arrive about 10-15 minutes early in order to find a place to
park. (Worship Schedule) We try to save some parking spots in front for
first-time visitors. If you have kids, allow another 5-10
extra minutes to get them settled in their classes.
Which service should I go to?
Depends on what type of service would work
best for you.
Our 8:30 am service is for those who appreciate
a more traditional atmosphere. It features responsive
readings, the Lord's Prayer and time-honored hymns and
choruses accompanied by piano and/or organ. Our pastor wears a liturgical robe at this
service.
The early and second services have a distinct style and feel
to them.

Our 11:00 am service is for those who appreciate
contemporary music and less formal atmosphere. Praise
choruses and hymns are led by our worship team and band.
What should I do with my kids?
Childcare and children's classes are
provided during the worship services. Before the service
starts, take your kids to see Pastor Julie's Staff in the
main hallway. There will be others also bringing their
children there, and can answer any other questions you might
have.
How much should I give at the offering?
You are our guest. We believe that the
church is supported by its members. As our guest, you should
not feel obligated to make any donation at all.
Will I Have To Do Anything Embarrassing?
We don't do anything special to single out
newcomers within the congregation. At one point during most
services, everyone is invited to turn to greet and
introduce themselves to the people around you. That's a good
time to mention that you are visiting; regular attendees
will identify themselves and will be glad to answer
questions or show you around after the service.
RIGHT: Worship and praise at MICC Also, Pastor Greg will at times ask any
newcomers to identify themselves to ushers that will walk
the aisles in order to receive a small gift as a welcome
to our church. There is a welcome packet in the lobby
for newcomers that includes a CD of recent sermons for you
to keep.
