This Sunday

"As the deer pants for the water, so may all our sons and daughters seek the One who rode a donkey on a palm-strewn street. May their joyful heart-felt praises emanate from what amazes those who still find Jesus worthy of hosanna cries."

-Pastor Greg Asimakoupoulos

RIGHT: Back from his Summer ministering to the volunteers in Yellowstone National Park, Pastor Jim leads worship on a September Sunday.

Make plans to join us at one of our two services:

Our 8:30 am service is for those who appreciate a more traditional atmosphere. It features responsive readings, the Lord's Prayer and time-honored hymns and choruses accompanied by piano and/or organ. Our pastor wears a liturgical robe at this service.

Our 11:00 am service is for those who appreciate contemporary music and less formal atmosphere. Praise choruses and hymns are led by our worship team and band.

SEE WHAT'S NEW IN 2008!

DISCOVERY: in Hanson Hall

Hosted by Bob and Nancy Gronhovd (bobnangronhovd@aol.com) and

David McRae (dsmcrae1@comcast.net)

David McRae is leading an in-depth study of the Sermon on the Mount, using a practical and meaningful question/discussion format to learn more about who is a Christian and how he/she can live in relationship with Christ.  Come learn about living with purpose, love, and God’s strength.  You are welcome to join a warm, family atmosphere, with sharing of personal and outreach concerns, and praying together.

NEW COMMUNITY: in Fellowship Hall

Hosted by Tom and Susan Guthrie tom.guthrie@twistpair.com; susan@truemountain.net), and Ken and Carol Lottis (krlottis@earthlink.net; cjlottis@earthlink.net)

Join parents of school-age children (kindergarten through college) as we discover truths from the Bible regarding the many relationships we encounter during these years.  We are using a variety of books and video segments to stimulate lively discussion and encourage one another.

ABUNDANT LIVING: in Room 102

Hosted by Judy Jansen (judyjansen@comcast.net), Dave and Trina Loehndorf (catdr@comcast.net), and Bill and Barbara Perman (bbperman@aol.com)

We look at the abundant life that Jesus describes in John 10:10 and what it means to live life to the fullest.  We are learning to live with abundant wealth as well as in poverty; how to deal with death and suffering as well as the joy of answered prayers.  Join us to hear dynamic speakers and be part of a “small group” setting.

EXPERIENCING LIFE TOGETHER: in Room 104

Hosted by Ron Thompson (thompsonron@mac.com), Judith Baxter (jbaxter@micc.org), and Kathy Riper (kathyriper@hotmail.com)

Beginning January 20, Ron Thompson will begin leading a study of the book of Philippians.  We will be wrapping up the Reggie McNeal DVD series "The Present Future: Six Tough Questions for the Church" on 1/6 and 1/13.  Come join us for a small group environment that involves rich discussion, prayer, and praise time!

PRAXIS: in Fellowship Hall

Hosted by Wendy Asimakoupoulos (wendycity21@aol.com), Tim and Carol Krell (tkrell@bellevuechristian.org: carol_krell@misd.wednet.edu), and Al and Kathy Lopus (alopus@bwinstitute.com; klopus@bwinstitute.com)

The Praxis Class will continue to examine Faith, Film, and the Arts in January.  Coming guests include Rev. Louise Holert who will lead in a guided meditation on a famous painting of The Annunciation and renown jazz trumpet player Jonathan Pugh.  Each class begins with the wild and wacky adventures of Al and Tim.  No, not from Tool Time, but rather from Sunday School Time.  Everyone is welcome.
